OPPORTUNITIES for MUSICIANS, MUSIC THERAPISTS, and MUSIC EDUCATORS

In its mission to restore music-making into everyday life, Songwriting Works™ offers services and opportunities for musicians of all ages, backgrounds and musical genres. Hands-on and long-distance learning workshops, trainings and individual coaching provide musicians with new and innovative approaches to being of service to one’s muse and one’s community through music.

Programs with expert faculty address the ‘nuts and bolts’ of facilitation, composition, improvisation and performance. Musicians who may benefit from exploring the physical, cognitive, social and spiritual benefits of community music-making and musical leadership include:

  • Seasoned professional composers and performers
  • Certified music and arts therapists
  • Music educators (K-life long learning)
  • Aspiring and emerging performing artists
  • Music and musical theater students
  • Retirees with musical passions to ignite
  • Musicians seeking new ways to engage across the generations and with families facing memory loss.

For upcoming trainings see calendar.

In 2009 Songwriting Works launched a two-year facilitator certification training for professional musicians with support of the National Endowment for the Arts. Musicians with strong composing, performance and teaching backgrounds will be eligible to apply in 2011.
